I had dogs in my early life, up through when I moved away for home after college and taking on my first job. Loved having dogs, but also realized how much work they required and my new job had me traveling quite a bit. After a couple of years, I wanted to have a furry friend at home, but knew that having a dog would be tough and unfair to the dog...so in came my first rescue kitten from the local shelter.
I never had a cat before, and quickly fell in love with new little critter. She was with me for 18 years, moving around the country without issue. And I have adopted cats/kittens from local shelters ever since (35+ years now).
